Questions from the bench

Frequently asked questions.

Short answers to the questions that matter before you generate.

What You Get

The scaffold, the files, and what belongs to you.

What exactly does AI-StoryForge generate?

A complete story scaffold: market research, psychological groundwork, character architecture, an information-control matrix, and a master outline. It gives you the structure to write from without writing the novel prose for you.

Does it write the novel prose?

No. StoryForge creates the blueprint. You write the book. The scaffold recommends what happens, why it matters, and how the story tracks across characters and chapters.

What files are included in a full generation?

A full run delivers genre research, pre-narrative psychological research, protagonist and antagonist definitions, character profiles, an information-control matrix, and a master story outline as downloadable text files.

Do I own the generated output?

Yes. Your inputs, generated scaffold, and the story you write from it belong to you. StoryForge is a writing tool, not a rights holder for your project.

Are my ideas used to train AI models?

No. StoryForge does not train on user prompts, outlines, or generated projects.

Free vs Full Runs

What changes when you use a token.

What is the difference between the free run and a full run?

The free run is a sampler with one genre, a shorter outline, a shorter matrix, lighter research, and a smaller character set. A full run unlocks the complete multi-file package, deeper model processing, and up to four ordered genres.

Is the free run really free?

Yes. No card is required. Create an account, verify your email, and use the free generation.

How long does generation take?

Free runs usually finish in a few minutes. Full runs are much deeper and can take around an hour depending on model load, genre complexity, and provider behavior.

Can I preview examples first?

Yes. Tour the Workshop shows pre-generated examples so you can inspect the type of scaffold before signing up or spending a token.

Tokens and Billing

Simple purchase rules before you generate.

Is one token one full story generation?

Yes. One paid token equals one full generation.

Do tokens expire?

No normal expiration. Tokens remain on your account unless the platform itself shuts down or an account is deleted.

Why does this cost more than an AI chat subscription?

StoryForge is not a chat box. It runs a structured multi-stage pipeline with market research, character systems, information tracking, and a full scaffold package. The pricing reflects the delivered workflow, not a single prompt response.

Are purchases refundable?

Refunds are handled case by case. Service-side failures are different from simply deciding an output is not your taste.

Account and Privacy

What is tracked and why.

Why does signup track my IP address?

To prevent abuse of free generations. The restriction is about account creation, not building an advertising profile.

Can I log in from another device later?

Yes. The IP check applies to signup abuse prevention. After your account exists, you can log in from normal devices and networks.

Do I need to verify my email before generating?

Yes. Email verification is required before free or paid generation.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Account deletion is available from your profile and requires email confirmation.

Content and Use

How the scaffold handles authorship and limits.

Can I use the output commercially?

Yes. Commercial use is the intended use case. The scaffold is yours to adapt, revise, and write from.

Can I publish a book based on the output?

Yes. The scaffold is yours, and the prose you write from it is yours. Publishers may have their own AI disclosure rules, so check those separately.

Does StoryForge generate explicit prose?

No. It can generate structural direction for adult-oriented scaffolds, but it does not write prose scenes.

What content is not allowed?

Standard safety limits apply, including no CSAM and no realistic reproduction of real people without consent. Adult and junior-oriented genres are also separated at the genre-selection level.

Workflow and Support

What happens while a project is running.

Where do completed generations go?

Your History page. Completed and in-progress generations are stored there with downloads when available.

What if the site freezes during generation?

The generation worker keeps running separately from the website. Refresh later, check History, and resume if a project was interrupted.

What format are downloads?

Plain text files packaged into a ZIP archive.

How do I contact support?
